Impact (A Poem)
Do you ever walk through some place for example a store in a small town
or the crowded streets of Chicago
and look at people’s faces
and wonder who each individual one of them impacts
for better or for worse?
A mother
A son
A tragic homicide
That started with his gun
A cold suburban road
A deserted cemetary
A cluttered holiday parking lot
A lonely kid’s bedroom
A mother
A son
A tragic homicide
That started with his gun
Flee the country to a far off place
Curl up in a ball
Can you forget their face?
A new born
A man that’s lost his will to live
They both cry for help
One’s considered profound
While the other’s pathetic
A mother
A son
A tragic homicide
That started with his gun
